350 km of 1,350 km long Greenfield Expressway completed, road ready by January 2023
423 km of Delhi-Mumbai Express van in Gujarat

1350 km under construction between Delhi and Mumbai. Longer greenfield expressways will not only save time, but also reduce pollution. 350 km on this expressway being constructed at a cost of Rs 1 lakh crore. Till the work is done. Currently 8 lanes are being constructed. Also 4 lanes will still be extended. 2 to go and 2 to come. This 4 lane will be for electric vehicle only. This will be the first express-way in the country to have a dedicated electric vehicle forlane. There are also proposals to build a new industrial township and a smart city along the Expressway. The survey is ongoing. Interval spots will be developed at 92 locations along the entire route. Roads and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said the work on the expressway would be completed by January 2023. However, the work was delayed due to Corona.
The distance from Mumbai to Delhi will be cut to 13 hours, currently 25 hours
The distance between Delhi and Mumbai is 150 km. Will decrease until. The distance will be cut in just 13 hours. It currently takes 25 hours to reach Mumbai by road from Delhi. The NH-8, which connects Delhi to Mumbai, is currently under heavy traffic. 1 lakh vehicles ply on it daily. These vehicles will shift on the express-way.
Expressway will save 32 crore liters of fuel every year
A 1.5 meter high wall will be constructed on both sides of the road for security.
The toll plaza will be in a slip lane instead of a highway, so the more you go into the city, the more toll it will cost.
Every 2.5 km. Later an overpass will be made for the cattle. There will be one underpass every 500 meters.
There will be facility centers on both sides every 50 km. There will be restaurants, food courts, convenience stores, fuel stations, EV charging points and toilets.
Speed of 120 kmph will be fixed for trains on expressway.
The lights will run on solar power. Harvesting systems are being set up to collect rainwater.
The highway will save 320 million liters of fuel per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 850 million kg annually.
There will be a special corridor in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve
In Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, 53.4 km. There will be a long corridor. This is the first time that a 3 meter high walled corridor is being constructed near Tiger Reserve. It will be soundproof, as well as prevent wildlife from coming on the road.
